Abstract

SummaryUrinary calcium output is increased in subjects with calcium renal lithiasis. It is highest in patients with oxalate-phosphate calculi. In uric acid lithiasis urinary calcium output is decreased. The pathogenesis of hypercalciuria observed in calcium nephrolithiasis Is not clear. Urinary tract infection, thought by Albright to be the cause of the raised calcium urinary output, was observed in only 8 cases out of 52.
