Abstract
An alternative to spending a six-figure sum for a consultant-produced strategic plan may be for the staff of a healthcare organization to develop a strategic plan as a "do-it-yourself" project. In addition to being less expensive to acquire, such a plan offers staff the opportunity to control the plan's content tightly and thus make it easier to implement.
