Abstract
The translabyrinthine approach remains an excellent technique for the management of large tumors of the cerebellopontine angle. It will likely remain a favorite approach for tumors in which hearing preservation is not possible. The suboccipital approach will continue to remain the favorite approach for hearing preservation in tumors that extend outside the limits of the internal auditory canal.
