Abstract
Transsphenoidal surgery performed with the aid of an endoscope has rapidly developed in recent years and many centers are now performing« pure »or endoscope- assisted transsphenoidal approaches. An overview of the role of the endoscope in pituitary surgery, from the first attempts to the current techniques is presented.
