Abstract
Objective To explore clinical features of laryngotracheal plastics with the silicon T-tube for laryngotracheal stenosis in children. Methods Forty-three cases of laryngotracheal plastics with the silicon T-tube for laryngotracheal stenosis between 1980 and 1998 were reviewed. The preoperative preparation, operative approach selection, postoperative care and prevention of complications were analysed. Results Twenty-two cases were cured after one operation, 11 after two, and 8 after over three. The cure rate was 95% and operative mortality was zero. Conclusion A satisfactory curative effect can be achieved by laryngotracheal plastics with the silicon T-tube for laryngotracheal stenosis as long as the appropriate operative mode is adopted and postoperative nursing is strengthened according to its particular clinical features.
