Abstract

This paper argues that the western economic growth theory focus on the quality of economic growth, while the domestic studies on quality of economic growth are too broad, almost equivalent to the study on economic development. This paper presents a set of new evaluation criteria around GDP,and based on it,compares comprehensively the quality of China-US economic growth from the efficiency, energy consumption, environmental stress, regional balance and stability of economic growth. The results of the empirical study show that there is a huge gap between China and the United States in the efficiency, energy consumption, environmental stress and regional balance, but the gap is rapidly closing. But China's economic growth is more stable than the United States.
