Present Status of Phosphogypsum Utilization in Building Materials

Utilization of phosphogypsum companying problems in building materials is discussed.There are four main approaches of phosphogypsum utilization including gypsum block,gypsum board,retarder and sulfuric acid with cement.Phosphogypsum impurities have an adversely effect on the qualities of cement and gypsum products,and usually require pretreatment.It is the main direction of utilization in building material to produce gypsum block and gypsum board by pretreated phosphogypsum;there are poor adaptability and feeding difficulties,when producing retarder,which can be solved by improving refined phosphogypsum taste and granulation processing;when using pretreated phosphogypsum to produce sulfuric acid with cement,defective technical process,high energy consumption, poor product quality,mainly focusing on process problems,need to be concerned.
