Survey of Han poems of the past dynasties in Korea

There has long been the deep kinship between Korean Peninsula and China.Since in history,the Korean people wrote poems and essays in the same Chinese characters as people did in China.Their Han poems can be traced back to as early as Shang and Zhou Dynasties when Qizi created the poem of Maixiu after returning to the newly-founded Korean state.Four-syllable regulated verses in Korea borrowed their pattern from The Book of Songs in China.Afterwards,just like China,five-syllable and seven-syllable regulated verses became popular in Korea. As the former Tang-subordinate country,many scholars went to Chang'an for knowledge,and made Han poems prevalent at home.Among those scholars,Cui Zhiyuan was the most outstanding poet.
