Abstract
In this paper, the basic characteristics of rice straw, wheat straw, corn stalk, rape straw and cotton stalk used as biomass energy resources were introduced and their moisture content, the water loss law in fields and their calorific value based on field experiments and tests were determined. The results showed that the laws of harvest moisture content were that the rice straw was the highest, the next ones were the corn stalk and the wheat straw, and the rape straw and cotton stalk were the lowest. The order of their calorific value was: cotton stalkrape strawcorn stalkwheat strawrice straw.Based on the index of energy materials, the cotton stalk was the most ideal material and rice straw was the worst.
