Abstract

Irradiation effects of C 60 films induced by high-energy H + ions,Which is the base of interaction with high-energy ions and condense physics, is very important for exploitation and appliance of C 60 molecule materials. The C 60 films have been implanted at room temperature with 120 keV H +ion by heavy-ion accelerator, and the effect of the structure of C 60 films is studied by the differential irradiation dose. Irradiation effects of C 60 films induced by H + ions is analyzed by means of Raman scattering technique. The analysis results indicate that the irradiation by medium energy ion can make C 60 films polymerization and amorphization, also there is certain threshold dose for this phenomena. The process is dominated by electron energy transfer. The annealing effect of electron energy loss, which induces the intermediate graphitization process before amorphization in lower irradiation dose, and the process is via C 60 molecule → graphitization → amorphization.
