Abstract
Objective To investigate the expressions of Notch1 and NF-κB p65 in cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma(CSCC) and its significance. Methods The expressions of Notch1 and NF-κB p65 was detected by RT-PCR and SP immunohistochemical methods in 58 cases of CSCC tissue and 58 cases of normal skin tissues, respectively. Results The relative content of Notch1 mRNA (0.451±0.072) in CSCC was obviously lower than that (0.715±0.085) in normal skin tissues, there was a significant difference between two groups (P0.05). The relative level of NF-κB p65 mRNA (0.646±0.062) in CSCC was significantly higher than that (0.445±0.063) in normal skin tissues, and there was a significant difference between two groups (P0.05). The positive expression ratio of Notch1 protein (31.03%) in CSCC was evidently lower than that (77.59%) in normal skin tissues, there was a significant difference between two groups (P0.05), while the positive expression ratio of NF-κBp65 protein (81.03%) in CSCC was evidently higher than that (34.48%) in normal skin tissues, and there was a significant difference between two groups (P0.05). Conclusion The low expression of Notch1 and high expression of NF-κB and p65 may be closely related to the occurrence and development of CSCC.
