Abstract
This paper introduces a numerical simulation of Lu'an Group,a 6206 mine fully mechanized mining working face goaf,by using the computational fluid dynamics(CFD) software Fluent and presents a study of the law governing the goaf spontaneous combustion zones and gas distribution,as occurs in the application of Y type ventilation system to working face. The results show the reconstruction of 6206 fully mechanized coal face into Y type ventilation system leads to the occurrence of minimum negative pressure zone of working face and goaf in the air return tunnel exit, resulting in emission gas influxing into return to be discharged and consequently greater air leakage from working face to goaf, thus allowing the whole area of goaf to be cooled, providing a smaller spontaneous combustion range.Y type ventilation system affords an more effective prevention of the spontaneous combustion of coal in goaf, and a better solution to the gas accumulation in the upper corner and gas overrun in return airflow roadway. The theoretical calculation and numerical simulation of wind velocity data verify the reliability of numerical simulation.
