Abstract

The theme of seven-character poem is analyzed in this paper. It is proclaimed that the poem still failed to use the old themes freely though it is out of the stage of mimic. Concerning the innovation, the poem in early Tang Dynasty failed to get rid of the bond of the old theme mode. So the features of the transitional SC poem are both inheriting and innovative.
