On Kant's Critique of the Ontological Argument

Abstract

The ontological argument as a transcendental argument is about the existence of a rational proof of God.Anselm presented a ontological proof,which was re-emphasized by Descartes who,starting from first principles,proved the existence of God in a philosophical way.Kant criticized this,for he believed that the existence of God as a proposition can not be effectively judged in a rational way.The ontological arguments for the validity were completely defeated in Kant's critique.
