Abstract
Variable stator vanes are used for regulating the characters of multi-stage axial compressor.It should have additional clearance flows between vane and casing for rotating requirements.The effects of clearance between casing and variable stator vane on multi-stage axial compressor performance are investigated by employing the CFD software.The relevant 3D viscous flow calculations show that the influence of clearance between casing and variable stator vane can't be neglected in precise CFD analysis.And the influence can be weakened by optimum design of stator rotating shafts.
