The expression and significance of p28GANK in patients with HBV-related hepatocellular carcinoma

Abstract

Objective To investigate the expression and significance of p28GANK in patients with HBV- relatedhepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).Mehtods A total of 60 patients with HBV-related HCC and matched non-tumor tissueswere collected and the expression of p28GANK were determined by using immunohistochemical staining.Results Immunohistochemistry revealed that the expression of P28GANK in HCC was significantly increased compared with matchednon-tumor tissues(P0.01). Higher P28GANK expression was correlated with advanced TNM staging, invasion and HBV-DNA replication(P0.05), but not with age, gender and AFP levels(P0.05). Conclusiogn P28GANK expression in HBV-related HCC was correlated with malignant progression and HBV replication, which might be a target for treatment of HBV-related HCC.
