Extraction of Rose Pigment from Residual Water in Rose Oil Production and Its Stability

Abstract

To make the full use of residual water formed in the process of rose essential oil distillation,red pigment was isolated from the water.The stability of the red pigment was studied.The results were as follows: The pigment was resistant to heat,acid,light,food additives,some metal ions,and oxidants.It is a kind of useful pigment to be developed.The isolation of rose pigment from residual water formed in the process of rose essential oil provides a comprehensive way to the full use of rose flowers.
