The Evolution of Aesthetic Standard and the Compilation of the Collection of Tang Yin's Poetry

Tang Yin's poems were first published in the form of a selected collection. The compiler Yuan Zhi,a friend of Tang's,distorted the style of the poet by sticking to his own preference for revivalism. Until Yuan Hongdao and another two editors He Dacheng and Qian Qianyi from the Yushan School gave due appreciation to Tang's poetry and made a new collection of his poems from a different perspective did Tang's original style begin to show its real face before his readers. The improvements of Tang's collection and the changes in its evaluation show that there is a direct relation between the evolution of the aesthetic taste and the spread and acceptance of the literary works. The compilers,who hold a special position between the writer and his readers,contribute a lot to the complexity of the process of literary transmission,the revelation of which will help us to achieve a deeper understanding of the aesthetic properties of Tang Yin's poetry and the dynamic process of literary transmission.
