Deep flexion knee prosthesis for treatment of knee osetoarthritis

Abstract

Objective To observe the early result of deep flexion knee prosthesis for treatment of knee osetoarthritis.Methods Forty-two patients(52 knees) underwent primary total knee arthroplasty with deep flexion knee prostheses.Clinical results were evaluated preoperatively,4 and 12 weeks postoperatively using KSS scoring system,and the range of knee motion were measured.Results Before operation,the mean range of knee motion was(92.6±11.3)°,KSS score was(41.6±4.9),the value of the functional scores was(47.2±6.9).Four weeks after operation,the mean value of the functional scores was(86.0±6.8),KSS scores was(83.6±7.8),the range of motion was(115.2±15.7)°;Twelve weeks after operation,the mean value of the functional scores was(92.7±8.1),KSS scores was(91.5±10.4),the range of knee motion was(132.0±11.4)°.Conclusion Deep flexion knee prosthesis is effective for treatment of knee osetoarthritis.
