Evaluate the Effects of Malaria Control in Shangshui County in 2000-2012

Objective To analyze malaria situation and evaluate the effects of control program in Shangshui County during 2000-2012. Methods Data were collected and analyzed on the measures and effects of malaria control in Shangshui County during 2000-2012. Results In the past 12 years, a total of 15931 people were given treatment of the resting phase for a radical cure of Plasmodium vivax, drug treatment was given to 3811 malaria patients, and microscopic examination of blood slides was given to 119918 patients with fever. Conclusion In general, the malaria control activities have been effective and local malaria outbreak and epidemic has been under control in Shangshui County. For the early realisation of the elimination of the malaria, comprehensive prevention and control measures, such as eliminating infection, strengthening imported case monitoring and disposal should be taken.
