Abstract
Objective To investigate the change of medical costs of in-patients with diabetes in Shaoxing hospital during 1997~2004.Methods Totally 4522 patients with diabetes in Shaoxing hospital during 1997~2004 were selected to analyze their medical costs(total costs,daily costs,costs for the drugs,costs for the examinations) and admission days.Results The medical costs(daily costs,total costs,and costs for examinations) of the in-patients for diabetic patients increased 4.83%,26.20% and 68.00%; and admission days and costs for drugs decreased 23.26% and 8.49%,respectively.However,compared with the Shaoxing annual expenditure,the total costs was decreased.Conclusion The in-diabetics′medical costs(daily costs,total costs,and costs for examinations) increased,and admission days and costs for drugs decreased.
