Abstract

Objective:To investigate the expression of the proliferative cell nuclear antigen (PCNA), transforming growth factor α(TGF α) in model for liver regenration. Methods:Wistar rats were randomly divided into two groups:①normal rats with hepatectomy.②cirrhotic rats with hepatectomy. Model for hepatectomy was established. Liver regeneration rate, the ratio of liver weight to body weight, the expression of PCNA and TGF α in liver tissue were detected before hepatecomy,12 hour,1 day,3 day,5 day,7 day and 14 day after hepatectomy respectively. Results:Liver regeneration rate, the ratio of liver weight to body weight, the expression of PCNA and TGF α in liver tissues of cirrhotic rats altered more slowly than those of normal rats (P0.05).Conclusion:Effective hepatocyte is relatively fewer and liver regeneration is delayed and slow in cirrhotic rats after hepatectomy and the impaired effect of TGF α may play a role in cirrhotic liver regeneration.
