Abstract
Objective:To investigate the effect of Acanthopanax senticosus spaponin (ASS) on the mRNA expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in human Hep G2, in order to study the mechanism of ASS on anti-angiogenesis. Methods: Hep G2 were incubated with ASS, the expression of VEGF mRNA was detected by RT-PCR assay. Results: ASS(250,500μg/mL) decreased the expression of VEGF mRNA (P0.01). Conclusion: ASS might inhibit angiogenesis by decreasing VEGF mRNA.
