A survey of studies on the clan since the late Qing Dynasty in the last ten years

Studies on the clan since the late Qing Dynasty had a noticeable improvement in the last ten years.Monographs on the change of clan society,modernization of clan,and the city clan,had been published recently.Scholars also paied great at-tention to the study of clan from regions such as the lower-middle reaches of the Yangtze River,Fujian,Guangdong and Anhui provinces etc.,which had greatly altered the weak conditions of the study of mordern clan in the past.Study on clan of North Chi-na has attracted the attentions of the historians and anthropologists,and the upsurge of the study on Hakka appeared.The anthro-pologist focused mainly on contemporary clan.As for as the study of the revival of contemporary clan,the study on clan and vil-lage self-government got excellent achievements.
