Abstract
With the analysis of evolutionary selection and functional divergence by the software of PAML and DIVERGE,and the mammalian MT gene undergone purifying selection and neutral selection have been found,and it has been subjected to positive selection in its evolutionary history.At the same time,the software of PAMLfound fourpositive selection amino acid sites and the software of DIVERGE found five type Ⅰfunctional divergence sites and two type Ⅱfunctional divergence sites which were conducive to the furtherstudy on structure and function ofmetallothionein.
