Abstract
Objective To study the relationship between CT performance of middle ear cholesteatoma and expression of matrix metalloproteinase-2(MMP-2) and matrix metalloproteinase-9(MMP-9).Methods Tested the expression of MMP-2 and MMP-9 by immunohistochemical method in 50 cases of middle ear cholesteatoma, and analyzed its correlation with CT performance. Results Different extent of damage of auditory ossicle was displayed by cholesteatoma tympanitis CT.There is significant difference in the expression of MMP-2 and MMP-9(P0.001).Conclusion MMP-2,MMP-9 expression in cholesteatoma is positively related to the degree of ossicular destruction, and can be treated as poor prognostic markers of cholesteatoma tympanitis.
