A Study on Design Method for Operating Speed Transition Section of Highway

On the basis of the study of speed relevant theories,models and features,combined with the practice of highway project design and safety evaluation,the speed characteristics of different types of highway and the highway design indicators selected characteristics are summarized and analyzed,the different types of highway design speed and operating speed transition section are explored,the minimum length of operating speed transition section is proposed,and the general principles of the operating speed transition design are summarized.Operating speed transition section design decreases effectively operating speed changes in adjacency sections of a highway,helps to improve the coordination and consistency of highway alignment design,and ultimately to improve highway safety.It is the supplement and improvement of the existing highway alignment design methods.
