Determination of Polynuclear Aromatic Hydrocarbons in Water Samples by Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry Method

Abstract

A comprehensive analytical method based on gas chromatography tandem mass spectrometry(GC/MS/MS) has been developed for the determination of 16 kinds of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(Naphthalene,Acenaphthylene,Acenaphthene,Anthracene,Benzo(b)fluoranthene,Benzo(k)fluoranthene,Benzo(g,h,i)perylene,Benzo(a)pyrene,Chrysene,Dibenzo(a,h)anthracene,Fluranthene,Fluorene,Indeno(1,2,3-c,d)pyrene,Phenanthrene,Pyrene,benzo[a]anthracene).In order to minimize the influences from changes in operating conditions to improve the accuracy of the measurements,the Philippines-d10 was put into the sample as internal test.Moreover,the experiments was optimized accoriding to working condition improvements.Experiments results suggest the linear coefficiency for each PAHs appears to be good,with correlation coefficients is higher than 0.999.The RSDs(n=7) range between 2.76% and 6.13%,and detection limits lies between 7.51×10-7 mg/L and 5.4×10-5 mg/L.The method is rapid,simple,sensitive,accurate and to meet the water determination of PAHs.
