Abstract

[Objective]To investigate the effect of perinatal asphyxia on blood glucose of neonates and change of blood glucose in disease course, provide the basis for treatment and nursing care. [Methods]The blood glucose levels of 38 neonates with asphyxia were monitored continuous 72 hours after birth.14 cases were treated with intravenous glucose administration,16 cases were given recovery agents, and 6 cases got non-medication. [Results]The average blood glucose increased with day old(the results of variance analysis showed F=10.46,P0.01).The blood glucose at 24 hours after birth of the cesarean section group was lower than that of the normal delivery group(P0.01).The blood glucose at 12 and 24 hours after birth of the asphyxia group was lower than that of the control group, and the incidence of hypoglycemia the asphyxia group was higher than that of the control group(P0.01).There was no significant difference in blood glucose at 48 and 72 hours after birth between the two groups(P0.05).The incidence of pathoglycemia of the asphyxia group was higher than that of the control group(χ2=12.74,P0.01). [Conclusion]The incidence of pathoglycemia of post-resuscitation newborns with asphyxia is significantly higher than that of the normal newborns, their average blood glucose level is low,and the incidence of hypoglycemia is higher than that of the normal newborn. The intravenous glucose administration or medication in neonatal asphyxia resuscitation can influence the glucose metabolism, and should be used carefully. The blood glucose monitoring is particularly important for asphyxia newborns, and doctors should pay attention to monitoring and regulation of blood glucose in resuscitation and extend treatment.
