Developmental Measurements of the Dental Arches of the Children in Northern Fujian Province

Objective To determinate the dental arch perimeter of the children in Zhenghe,FuJian,to know the development regularity and characteristic of the growth of the tooth.Methods 321 children who are between 3 and 9 years old enrolled in Zhenghe,Jian'ou,Fujian.To measured the arch perimeter of dental model using calipers with digital.Results Some sexual difference of the arch perimeter in 5~7 years old between mandibular permanent first molars was found. There is significant increase between the arch perimeter of 7~9 years old due to the eruption of incisors.Conclusion The arch perimeter significantly increase in the period of 7~9 years old.The changes is perhaps due to the eruption of incisors.
