Abstract
This paper applies GT (group technology) and feature modeling method to build up the CAD system of modular fixture for Xian Kunlun Mechanic Factory, based on SolidWorks. The system includes modular fixture element library, modular fixture managing system. With them, modular fixtures can be assembled, question and manage more quickly . It would provide the problem of the NC programs of numerical control machine tools can't be used directly because the changes of structure and orientation of modular fixtures owe to the difference of assembling men or time . It would speed the integration of CAD/CAM and popularize the use of modular fixtures.t This paper also studies the second development of SolidWorks based on VC++6.0.
