Abstract

Based on the contact dynamics between hangers and rail,a finite element simulating model for missile rail-launching from an aircraft was presented, and the effect of missile's slip angle, shell stress and contact forces on the security of missile's rail-launching process was investigated. The effects of aircraft's movement, contact forces, aerodynamic forces and missile engine pressure were considered, the real physical process of missile's rail-launching movement was simulated. The typical launching state of a AIM-9 missile was investigated, and the influences of aircraft's vertical acceleration and rolling angular velocity, missile's lateral aerodynamic force and yawing moment on the missile's rail-launching motion process were studied. The analysis results provided an important basis for missile designing. It was shown that method is applicable with higher analysis accuracy and easy to use,it can be widely used in the security analysis of missile rail-launching from an aircraft.
