Research on OWL ontology building method

Abstract

By analyzing the characteristics of the semantic web and requirements of ontology building methods and specification langu-ages,a new OWL ontology building method is proposed.The method consists of four steps described in detail the process of building ontology and deals with the conversion from domain knowledge to formal codes that computers can operate.Finally,the method is used to build the food chain ontology,which demonstrates its effectiveness.
