Abstract
Objective To analyze quantitative determination of EB virus DNA in plasma on monitoring the recurrence of NPC and metastasis. Methods Using fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction, comparisons were made between the 42 patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma after radiotherapy and 28 local recurrences after radiotherapy, and 8 distant metastases. Results There were more patients prone to local recurrence and metastasis after radiotherapy(positive rate 75.0%,27/36 patients;the median of copy quantity 32 170.0copies/ml) than patients were relieved after radiotherapy. Conclusion Quantitative analysis of plasma EBV-DNA is effective in monitoring the recurrence or metastasis of nasopharyngeal carcinoma,so it can be adopted as the effective index to monitor nasopharyngeal carcinoma recurrence and metastasis.
