Abstract
The indica hybrid rice Fengliangyou 1 was used to investigate the effects of amount of nitrogen applied and planting density on grain quality. The results showed that chalky rice rate and chalkiness increased, gel consistency and amylose content decreased with the increase of amount of nitrogen applied;and with the decrease of planting density chalky rice rate and chalkiness decreased, but amylose content increased first and then decreased. It was found that the proper amount of nitrogen applied was 180 kg/hm~2 and the suitable planting density was 190 700 hills/hm~2(19.7 cm×26.7 cm) for the indica hybrid rice combination Fengliangyou 1.
