Abstract
AIM:To observe the relationship among acute portal hypertension, intestinal endotoxemia and hepatic microcirculatory disturbance.METHODS:Portal venous flow dynamics, portal venous pressure, changes of plasma and hepatic biochemistry and histopathology, trypan blue distribution time were measured in rats with severe hepatic injury induced by thioacetamide.RESULTS:(1)Portal venous flow markedly decreased and portal venous pressure markedly increased. (2) Plasma level of endotoxin, tumor necrosis factor-α,endothelin-1 and trypan blue distribution time were significantly higher. (3) The diameter of hepatic sinusoids remarkably narrowed.CONCLUSION:The intestinal endotoxemia and hepatic microcirculatory disturbance played an important role in development of acute portal hypertension.
