Abstract
Polymerization of styrene initiated by copper(Ⅰ)chloride /ethylenediamine /benzyl chloride has been studied in the paper. The effect of polymerization time, ratio of monomer to catalyst and polymerization temperature on the polymerization were investigated and the obtained polystyrene was characterized by GPC, 1HNMR and DSC. It was showed that the number average molecular weight is as high as 2.3×105, the polydispersity indexes are lower than 1.72,syndiotactic content is as high as 83%, and the glass transition temperature is 102?℃.
