Abstract
Taking population urbanization as the sole measure seems improper to reflect completely and concretely the level of urbanization. It is very significant for city developing and national economy growth to understand and estimate level of urbanization. Aiming at this, author analyzes the unilateralism of population urbanization and puts forward the new concept of urbanization. Based on this, author establishes a synthesized estimating model to estimate the level of urbanization based on urban development by Newton Secondly Low and estimates the urbanization level of Tianjin. Author estimates the urbanization level of provinces and towns and municipalities in 2010. The results indicate that it is more rational to estimate the urbanization level with synthesized estimating model than by the ratio of population urbanization.
