Abstract
Objective To explore the relations between insulin resistance and metabolic disorders in middle - aged people. Methods 180 subjects aged 65.3 ± 9.2 years were divided into four groups: control group, insulin resistance syndrome group, hyper-lipemia group and NIDDM group. Plasma glucose was measured by the enzyme method. Serum insulin was measured by the radioim-munoassay,The estimate of insulin resistance by HOMA was calculated with formula fasting serum insulin(mIU/L)× fasting plasma glucose (mmol/L)/22.5. Results Statistical analysis showed that HOMA - IR in three metabolic disorder groups were obvious higher than that in control group. Conclusion Prevalence of Insulin resistance is existed in middle - aged people with metabolic disorders.
