Abstract
Based on long-term systematic researches, the hydrodynamic conditions, sediment transport and riverbed evolvement of the Yangtze Estuary are compared and analyzed. According to the analyses, the North Channel is selution as the main deep-water navigation channel to the sea and is to be pre-trained, and the training principle of the Yangtze Estuary is determined. The first-and second-stoge training works for the deep-water channel in the Yangtze Estuary have produced good training effects and economic benefits.
