Abstract

Objective To investigate the usefulness of non-mydriatic fundus photography in diabetic retinopathy screening.Methods A total of 318 cases with diabetes were photographed with nonmydriatic camera and analyzed.Results The 109 cases(34%) had normal fundus,164 cases(52%) had non-prolifrative diabetic retinopathy and 45 cases (14%) had prolifrative diabetic retinopathy.All cases were treated according to the photographic results.Conclusions Our results demonstrate that nonmydriatic fundus photography is effective in diabetic retinopathy screening.
