Abstract

Objective To investigate the positive results of pulmonary tuberculosis detected by sputum smear in patients in a hospital from January 1999 to December 2004,so as to strengthen the prevention of tuberculosis. Methods Sputum smear results of outpatients and inpatients were analyzed retrospectively, sputum smear was performed with carbolfuchsin. Results From 1999 to 2004,the positive rate of sputum smear was(11.41%),(11.19%),(12.36%),(15.65%),(15.79%) and(16.15%) respectively, the positive rate((15.90%)) of sputum smear in the latter 3 years was obviously higher than that((11.70%)) of the former 3 years. Conclusion There is an increasing tendency of the occurrence of pulmonary tuberculosis in this zone, prevention and control measures should be strengthened.
