Abstract

Objective To study the myocardial protective effects of retrograde perfusion via coronary sinus in beating heart. Methods 20 patients undergoing mitral valve replacement were divided into experimental group( with mild hypothermic retrograde perfusion via coronary sinus in beating heart n=10)and control group(on arrest heart with mild hypothermic n=10).Cardiopulmonary bypass(CPB)was performed for 150 minutes .Plasma and calcitonin gene-related peptide(CGRP)of tow groups were respectively measured and contrasted at 6 different time intervals. Results CGRP in two groups increased in varing degrees during CPB.CGRP in experimental group increased more quickly. The peak of CGRP appeared when CPB finished.CGRP in experimental group was higher than that in the same time in control group(P0.05).Conclusion Increased plasma CGRP might be sensitive detecting indication of myocardial protective effects. Beating heart were propitious to the synthesis and release of CGRP showing superior myocardial protective effect.
