Abstract
Objective To study the nutritional knowledge,attitudes and dietary habits of college students in Shihezi University,and to probes into the influencing factors of students' nutrition knowledge,attitudes and dietary behavior. Methods Using the college students' nutrition questionnaire,arandom sample of 3 000 students of 14 colleges were surveyed on nutrition knowledge,attitudes and dietary behavior. Results Students' dietary nutritional knowledge score was(3. 40±1. 80) in average.Medical students scored(3. 71±1. 69) higher than non-medical students(3. 28±1. 82),and the difference was statistically significant(Z =-5. 57,P0. 05); girls scored(3. 71±1. 70) higher than boys(3. 13±1. 83),and the difference was statistically significant(Z =-8. 46,P0. 05); Han scored(3. 57±1. 77) higher than the minority(2. 62±1. 70),and the difference was statistically significant(Z = 10. 73,P0. 05). TV(57. 6%) and the network(51. 4%) were the main ways for college students access to information and knowledge of food safety. Conclusion Students' nutritional knowledge score is not high,the different faculties,gender,ethnicity,and whether learned nutrition related courses are the main factors.
