Abstract
Toluene is one of the cosubstrates c a pable of supporting co -metabolism s of trichloroethylene(TCE).We found that effects of initial toluene concentr ation on biodegradation of TCE were o bviou s.When ratios of TCE to toluene concentrations were 1∶23,1∶115and 1 ∶230,respectively,TCE w as degraded by 60%,95.44%and 64.3% ,indicating that TC E exhibited a significant degradation at the middle ratio .In a ddition, oscillations were observed in the biodegradation curves of TCE a nd toluene, and the radio of two chemicals was more near unity, the oscillations was more serious.
