Abstract

Individualism in Wordsworth was criticized by T.S.Eliot.Thanks to his emphasis of imagination and feelings, Wordsworth's notion of poetry is characterized by individualism, mixed with humanism. These features find full expres- sion in such aspects as the object, the core, and the function of poetry,in addition to the environment of poetic writing. Wordsworth's notion of poetry is conditioned by the intellectual and historical context of his time, and plays an important role in English romantic poetry.
