Abstract

The tension of submarine fiber optic micro-cable(SFOMC) in high-speed deployment is studied,and the effects of ocean current,the out diameter,the gravity of unit length of SFOMC,and the deployment speed on the tension of the SFOMC are analyzed.Through computer simulation it is concluded: ocean current is one of the main factors to affect the tension of SFOMC;to reduce the tension it is necessary to choose SFOMC with as smaller diameter as possible;the gravity of unit length of SFOMC in sea-water has less impact on the tension;the tension is not related to the travelling speed of the deployment platform.Consequently it is not necessary to design and manufacture such SFOMC that has large unit length gravity in sea-water.
