Abstract

Objective To evaluate C-axis in the development of adult maxilla in sagittal plane. Methods Maxillary protrusion(SNA≥84°)40 cases, normal maxillary(80°≤SNA≤84°)40 cases, and maxillary retrusion( SNA≤80°)40 cases were enrolled in the current study. Length of the C- axis was measure and compared among the three groups. Results The mean values were maxillary protrusion(82. 60 ± 2. 24) mm,normal maxillary(79. 28 ± 2. 33) mm,maxillary retrusion(74.67 ±1.89) mm. Changes between normal Maxillary, maxillary protrusion and maxillary retrusion showed no significant difference( P 0. 05). However, maxillary protrusion and maxillary retrusion showed significant difference( P 0. 05). Conclusion C- Axis is a useful way for evaluating development of adult maxilla in sagittal plane.
