Study on Biodiversity in Huliu River Wetlands Nature Reserve,Shanxi

Huliu River Wetlands Nature Reserve was authorized by Shanxi Provincial People's Government in 2007,and located in southeast Guangling,Shanxi,39° 38′ 6～39° 46′ 16 N,114° 14′ 39～114° 24′ 57 E.The protection species in this reserve composed of rare and endangered species,including national protected 1st avian Ciconia.nigra,Haliaeetus albicilla,Otis tarda and mammal Panthera pardus and 2nd plant Glycine soja etc,moreover,wetlands ecosystem in Huliu River watershed and.Its area totally is 11 234 hm2.Because of rich water resource,various eco-environments,there are rich biodiversity in this reserve.Based on the investigation in the reserve,there were animals 22 orders,51 families,174species totally,including amphibian and reptilians 6 families,12 species;avian 34 families,132 species,mammals 10 families,29species.There were 745 species of wild seed plants totally,belong to 354 genera79 families,among which gymnosperms had 2 families,2 genera and 4 species,angiosperms had 67 families,352 genera and 741 species.The angiosperms are composed of dicotyledonous and monocotyledon,having 65 families,289 genera and 626 species,and 12 families,63 genera and 115 species,respectively.Main vegetation types consisted in 20 Formations.Finally,based on the situation and eco-environment problems in this reserve,the scientific strategies for management and conservation this reserve were discussed.
