Study on Research Progress of the Mechanism of Urban Sprawl and Spatial Morphology Evolution

The mechanism of urban sprawl and spatial morphology evolution are analyzed on the base of urban sprawl and urban evolution manner,and a comprehensive literature review on the progress in the dynamics of the urban sprawl and spatial morphologic is presented.Based on the difference in the theory and aspects the scholars thinking about,all the existing urban sprawl and spatial morphologic methods can be roughly classified into five broad categories:(1)urban economy school;(2)human ecology school;(3)mathematical science school;(4)urban geography school;and(5)landscape ecology school.Each method has its advantages and disadvantages,and can be applied alone or integrated according to the geographical features of the study object.
